Abstract

This study was conducted on employees of the General Authority for the Social Solidarity Fund – Sahl Al Jafara branch, aiming to evaluate the level of employees’ knowledge of the fingerprint attendance system, its effectiveness in enhancing job discipline and controlling attendance and departure, as well as identifying the impacts resulting from its implementation and measuring employee satisfaction according to years of experience. The results showed that employees’ level of knowledge and daily use of the fingerprint system was high, with mean scores ranging between (2.475–2.625) and an overall mean of (2.569). This reflects a good level of readiness and ability among employees to deal with the system efficiently. The findings also indicated that the effectiveness of the fingerprint system in improving job discipline was high, with mean values ranging between (2.450–2.625) and an overall mean of (2.531), demonstrating its positive role in enhancing commitment to official working hours. Regarding the system’s ability to control attendance and departure, the evaluation was also high, with mean scores ranging between (2.475–2.550) and an overall mean of (2.513). This indicates that the system contributes effectively to strengthening administrative monitoring and ensuring accurate documentation of attendance records. However, the impacts associated with the implementation of the system were rated as moderate, with mean scores ranging between (2.250–2.375) and an overall mean of (2.300), suggesting the presence of some challenges faced by employees, but at a moderate level. Furthermore, the results confirmed a strong positive correlation between the use of the fingerprint system and the improvement of job discipline, where Pearson’s correlation coefficient reached (r = 0.792) at a statistically significant level. The study also revealed differences in employee satisfaction according to years of experience, with a statistically significant difference between employees with (1–5 years) of experience and those with (10 years or more), while no significant differences were found among the other groups. In conclusion, the study confirmed that the fingerprint attendance system is an effective tool in enhancing job discipline and reducing absenteeism and tardiness, while some moderate challenges need to be addressed to further improve its implementation quality.
